The new IFM tables show all the "country data" which is essential for the exporter looking for background information in the pre-contractual phase. The tables contain information on:

• principal banks in the countries on the basis of international assessment parameters;
   
  
• information on the maximum duration of credit accepted by the foremost operators in the forfaiting market;
   
  
• information on the availability of SACE credit insurance;
   
  
• added notes on the availability of other financial instruments.

We advise exporters to contact IFM directly for further information or updates of the data in the tables, given that each commercial operation is evaluated on the basis of a range of factors (including the total contract value, type of bank guarantee etc.). IFM is also able to provide information on banks not shown on the country risk tables or more in-depth information and assessment of other financial instruments.

We would also remind exporters that export operations may qualify for export finance benefits under Italian law decree 143 of 1998. Further details of the criteria to be met are available from the export finance office staff.
